Former captain of the Nigeria under-17 team Yahaya Lawali scored his second goal in the colours of MFK Karvina on Saturday in a 2-1 win against Sigma Olomuc Under-19 team.
The defender who also had an assist in the game, was deployed in an advanced role on the pitch and he put up a man of the match performance.
Lawali who recently joined the Czech Republic top-tier team from Abuja based Mahanaim FC on a four-year deal, scored his first goal against Banik Ostrava, a solitary effort that earned his side all maximum points.
In the game against Banik Ostrava, Lawali who won two Man-of-the match awards at the 2023 Africa Under-17 Cup of Nations in Algeria, started the game as a defensive midfielder, he was subsequently deployed to the attacking midfield position where he was able to rescue his side with a goal.
Lawali will be looking forward to more playing time with the team, with the aim of forcing his way into the MFK Karvina main team
