Mahanaim held to draw by Fine Trust
Mahanaim FC failed to find the back of the net against Fine Trust F.A on Saturday despite scoring 8 goals the previous weekend.
With three players from the regular line up missing, the hot boys were too cold in front of the goal against the team from Nyanya. Striker Odenigbo Emmanuel who scored a hat-trick against Uhuru FC, inspirational winger Usama Shuaibu and Captain Egwuatu Daniel were all out of the squad for different reasons. This perhaps affected the boys as they failed to convert the chances that came their way against Fine Trust.
The visitors played a highly disciplined and inspired game as they threatened to score the host a couple of times in the opening 20 minutes. They were unlucky not to score after one of the many free-kicks they hit the cross bar in the first half.
Mahanaim settled into the game after a while, controlling the tempo and creating a few scoring opportunities in the first half which the attackers could not convert.
The match witnessed more opportunities for both teams in the second half, as Mahanaim players were hunted by the guilt of not scoring. Strikers Batchily Mamoudou and Junior Cornelius both had big chances come their way but their efforts wasn't enough to beat Fine Trust goalkeeper.
Both teams shared a friendly moment after the game with exchange of pleasantries and admiration after a rather entertaining goalless draw.
